Hotel construction finished in time for Super Bowl XLVI in 2012

The 34-storey JW Marriott Indianapolis is the largest and tallest hotel in the capital of Indiana, USA , featuring more than 1,000 rooms. Construction finished on the JW Marriott in time to host players, media and fans for Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. The hotel joins three other Marriott-branded hotels on a seven-acre, $450-million complex.

Alex Veksler, Plumbing Engineer for Circle Design Group Inc. of Indianapolis, was the engineer for the JW Marriott project at the time. Circle Design Group specified Viega’s Profipress system (US standard) for installation in the prestigious hotel and local contractor North Mechanical Contracting, Inc. installed the copper press system for drinking water and hot water heating applications systems sizes 2" and down.

Profipress saves time and labour

Veksler was more than satisfied with the way Profipress performed for the project. “I was very pleased,” he said. “Everything held well, including during the test process – and we did quite a few tests with high pressure. We didn’t have any problems.”

Veksler stated that Profipress saved contractors time and labour during installation, which was essential for the JW Marriott project because of its tight timeframe. “Overall, the system gives the opportunity to do a lot of things in a faster, more reliable way,” Veksler said.
